Life at Jones Hall...Life at Utah State: Year 1.

My life at Utah State so far has been great!! I have made so many new friends and made some great memories from day one. I love my roommates, they're absolutely amazing! :) We get along great..we all just clicked it seems. Everyone at Jones Hall is so great...we all get along so great. Everyone here is really my family away from home. We are that close. I don't care what anyone says, Jones Hall is the best place to live on campus. I don't think a single person actually chose to live at Jones, but we were all put here. I'm glad I was able to live here my first year of college. There is still one more semester to go, but some people are moving because of missions and such. They will all be missed, but there will still be more memories made here, more fun times, more staying up late just because...that's the life of a college student. :) There will definitely be more friends made along the way, but I will never forget my first year at Utah State, all the friends I have made, all the memories and awesome times. Life is great. :) I am so glad I chose to go to Utah State, it is a great school, a lot of great opportunities here. This is truly where I am supposed to be right now. My dad told me that when I came my first week and I was really homesick, he told me that this is where I am supposed to be right now. It took a while for me to realize it myself, but I know now that this is where I am supposed to be, to further my education and continue my life to fulfill my dreams. This is a major stepping stone in my life, going to college is a big deal. It is so different from high school, but I love it so much. I would never change what I have gone through to get here, all the friends I have made, even the struggles I have had in class, it is all worth it in the end. It is a great learning experience to move on and stay strong, stay on the right path to my dream of becoming a doctor. It is the first step, the first step on the long hike to that mountain that I am starting. I must remember to look down while I walk, take breathers, and not fall...I will get to the top and succeed. College is hard, and it will get harder at times, but that doesn't mean I should give up, just keep pushing harder to get to the top...it will always be rocky along the way, but that doesn't mean we should give up and let our selves down. It's too late to turn back, you already made that decision to go on this hike, so we must conquer it, make it to the top of the mountain, never look back. Once you hit the top, the view will be amazing. Looking back at all you have done to  get to the top, it will be SO worth it, so worth the hike getting there. Keep on going, look ahead to your future, fulfill those so desired dreams you have been working so hard for, it will be a great ending, I promise you. We all must do our part to keep ourselves going, no giving up, keep going, we can do this! Step after step only gets us closer to that final destination, our goals and dreams. Don't stop and look back, keep going! :) My first year of college had taught me this, it has made me not want to give up. There is no way I can turn back now, I have started that long hike, I must keep going. There will be people along the way to help you, I have met many people here at Utah State that have done just that...kept me going when it got rough, I thank all my friends I have met up here. I especially thank my wonderful family for their continuous support in my decisions of going to Utah State, their continuous love when I have been so close to giving up. It has helped me so much! This first semester hasn't been easy, but it was so worth it, so worth the stress, so worth the disappointments and grief. I will never forget it, never forget what I have learned, the friends and memories I have made here.

My first semester at Utah State has been filled with a lot of great memories. :) Thank you to all those who have made this year a great one! :) :)

One down, Two more to go...

One final down, two more to go. Biology final is in the books. Can I just say how happy I am to have that finished? I felt absolutely great about it, I was able to remember all the studying I have done over this last week and all I have learned in class, it was great. What wasn't so great was not being able to go to sleep at all last night. It just wasn't a night for sleep in our apartment. I went to bed at 9:30, but I wasn't able to sleep until about 12:30 and I woke up about every 2 hours....now that wasn't fun. Of all nights, that had to happen! I finally woke up at about 6, even though I wanted to go back to sleep, I had the biology final at 7:30. I had a good breakfast and was able to get there on time and stay focused, despite how tired I was. Being tired didn't effect my ability to stay focused which was great. During the test, I wasn't very tired...now after, that's a different story. Walking home, I was really tired. Haha. I think I will take a nap before I study for my math final tomorrow. Hopefully tonight isn't a repeat of last night...that wouldn't be cool! I am just glad that my biology final is out of the way...that class was definitely hard! Two more finals, two more days and I get to go home!

Now, I have a busy 3 days ahead of me...well technically two and a half. I have more studying to do, packing and cleaning the apartment for apartment checks for the end of the semester. I have so much to do, so little time! I actually want it to go by fast so I can go home! :) I am so excited for this break...I love Christmas! I will be going home Wednesday, which is awesome! My parents are coming to pick me up after my last final-history. That won't be too bad.

Good luck to all those taking finals! We are that much closer to the end of the semester and going home and enjoying a much needed long break! :) :) Remember to get in your zone to study, stay focused, eat a good meal before you take the test, and don't psych yourself out! We got this! :) :)

My first semester at Utah State University is almost in the books. It's crazy how fast time flies! So much has happened over this semester!

When you're in the zone....

When you're in the zone, it's hard to stop what you are doing. That is exactly how I felt when I was studying late last night and early this morning. Yes, I stayed up past 3 studying because I was in my zone. I felt so..accomplished. I was pretty awake despite how late it was. I was able to fall asleep really quick though..within 20 minutes. I am pretty sure my brain appreciated the rest, I know I did. I was out. I am so glad I was able to get a lot of studying in. There is still more studying to be done...I just need to get in my zone again and tune everything out. I have found listening to calming, relaxing music really helps me stay focused. Whatever the studying techniques you use, it's always great when you're in the zone....a lot gets done...stress disappears and you can stay focused on the task at hand. I love that feeling of accomplishment...it's absolutely amazing. Good luck to all those who are studying for finals! Get in your zone and stay focused...we can do this! :) :)

Bring on Finals! The closer I am to finals week, the closer I am to finishing and the closer it is to Wednesday when my parents are coming to take me home! I will be homeward bound in about 4 days. I cannot wait! :) I will be home for the Holidays....my favorite time of year. I know my holiday break is going to be filled with a lot of fun stuff..family and friends. :)

Stay focused, get in your zone! Before you know it, your finals will be over and you will be home free for the holidays! :)

We. Are. The. Lumberjacks. Of. Jones. Hall. :)

So....pretty much we had an awesome Lumberjack party last Friday! It was so much fun! :) We all dressed up as Lumberjacks(flannel and fake beards!) I made a lot of pancakes for the hungry Lumberjacks that came. It was a blast. About 20-25 people showed up to our little apartment. It was pretty tight, but it was worth it. :) It was a great night. After the party, a lot of went outside and had a huge snowball fight. It was a really foggy night which made it even better! I teamed up with Shaun and we walked around the SLC hiding and coming up with tactics to sneak up on everyone. We made it around Jones Hall...but figured out we were outnumbered, so we just went for it! It was so much fun! I had a blast. :) I love my friends up here at Utah State-we have had so much great times. :) Friday night was definitely one of those nights! :) What a great way to end a Friday night. :) Good times....good times!!!

Lumberjack buddy and snowball fight buddy! (We so dominated in the snowball fight!)  Gotta love the mirror shot!

December is upon us. :)

December is upon us! Where did November go? Thanksgiving has passed, which might I add, is never a disappointment! My mom is the most amazing cook out there. It was great going home for Thanksgiving. :) . It was great being home..I didn't want to leave. I was able to spend some quality time with my wonderful family. It was a great week. Not to mention, I went to the Jazz game with my brother, Matt. They played the Lakers. They were down by 19, but the comeback kings did it again. They beat the Lakers 106-98 in what had to be the most intense, frustrating and annoying game I have ever witnessed! Matt and I were surrounded by Laker fans that were driving us nuts, so we had to be extra loud to scream over the Laker fans. I almost lost my voice. It was well worth it though-what a great game! They never disappoint when I go to games-they haven't lost once since I have been to a Jazz game. :) Not only did the Jazz beat the Lakers, but the big Utah/BYU rivalry game was last weekend, and Utah won on a blocked field goal in the final seconds of the game. Everyone was going crazy at our house. It was awesome because we were putting up the Christmas tree and screaming about the game at the same time. Good times. :) I cannot wait to go back home in a couple weeks. In the mean time, I must stay  focused on classes, especially finals that are coming up. Soon, I will be going home, finals will be over, and my first semester of college will be in the books. Pretty crazy how fast time flies. I can't believe it's already December and 2010 is almost over! What a great year it has been too! :) I have had so many great memories this year, I only hope to make more once 2011 comes around. :) Until then, I am SO EXCITED for Christmas! It is only my favorite holiday! :) It really is the best time of year in my opinion. Family, friends. tradition, love, yummy food, snow, lights on Temple Square...and OH SO MUCH MORE! I know I have said it already, but I absolutely love this time of year. :) It really brings out the warm fuzzies. :) Haha. As crazy as this sounds, I love to get bundled up and be all warm and cozy. I love playing in the snow. I am determined to make a snow man and snow cave sometime soon. :) It really brings out the little kid in me. When I go home, I will have to recruit my little sisters to help me build a snow cave and have a snow ball fight. :) Another thing I love is my dogs love to play in the snow! It is one of the cutest things ever when they run through the snow! I was able to see that when I was home for Thanksgiving. Indiana adores the snow, I think she would have a dog house made of of snow if she could. :) This time of year is also great for fantastic soup-especially made by my mom. :) She makes the most amazing soup ever! Not to mention she is already an amazing cook. :) It really warms you up after having a big bowl of her soup. :) This time of year is also great because there are a lot of traditions....making yummy Christmas treats, spending quality time with family, Christmas shopping, putting up the Christmas tree, trips to Temple Square, Christmas Eve. party with extended family...staying up late that night because we are too excited to sleep. :) One of my favorite parts is waking up Christmas morning. I don't care what they say, you are never too old to be really excited to wake up on Christmas morning. :) I just love the feeling of this time of year....I could honestly not care too much about the gifts, I love giving and serving around this time of year...just being surrounded by those I love is good enough for me. :) That's what Christmas is all about in my opinion. Family, tradition, giving, and love. :) I can't wait to go home and get ready for Christmas! :) The best time of the year!!

Christmas 2009- Emily and I at the annual Family Christmas Eve. Party. :)

Snow! Isn't it great when it snows on Christmas?? :) I love a White Christmas! :)

Beautiful Salt Lake Temple in December. :) I love the layout of the lights on Temple Square-they do such an amazing job! :) A lot of great memories with going to Temple Square around Christmas time. :)

December is upon us!! :) The best time of year is here, spread the cheer. :) Christmas will soon be here, 24 days and counting! :)

Friends. Facebook. Fun.

So, I'm sitting here with Shaun just chilling and listening to music and venting about how dumb facebook is...saying we have a notification when nothing is there! Come on facebook! Work with me here! Anyway...we are listening to Shaun's iTunes and he just goes ahead and puts Brittney Spears on... well then... haha. :D Oh good times. Gotta love hanging out with friends! :) Venting about how stupid facebook is, listening to music and being really hyper. That is the life at Jones Hall. :) I love college! I have met some pretty dang awesome people at Utah State! The best people are in Jones Hall. :) My roommates are awesome, I love them! I have had some awesome times up here with friends!

I officially have a love hate relationship with facebook....always telling me things and it not being there. How lame is that? Yet, it still works as a great time waster and a great place to procrastinate. :) Good times for sure.

I sure am having some fun just sitting here listening to music with Shaun..being hyper, checking blogs, facebook stalking of course. :D Good times

Friends are awesome. Facebook is lame, but a great time waster. Fun...is well you guessed it, FUN! :)

 Yeah! Peace!
Good times! :)

Wow...fail at a serious face on my part!
